How to look after your boiler and prevent long term problems, repairs and breakdown

Switch it off

Another way to make savings is to switch your boiler off during summer or to the hot water only setting if your boiler is a combi boiler. However, don’t forget to switch your boiler on at least once a month and let it run for at least 15 minutes to keep things ticking over.

Insulate your pipes

Avoid boiler problems due to frozen pipes when the temperature drops by insulating your pipes with lagging to keep things running smoothly in any weather. Frozen pipes can cause blockages, leaks and a complete boiler breakdown, so having the foresight to lag your pipes earlier in the year will be of huge benefit when winter arrives.

  • What should I expect from a one-off boiler repair?

    When you book a one-off boiler repair with us, you'll receive a no-obligation quote for your repair. 


    An expert engineer will take a look at your boiler to give you a quote to repair it. If you are satisfied with the price, our engineer will get started. 


    If you decide not to go forward, you will only be charged for the time the engineer spent at your address. 


    If the engineer finds any unrelated faults during the diagnosis, they will provide a quote for each individual repair. 

  • How much does a boiler repair service cost?

    If you need to get your boiler fixed, the cost of a repair can vary depending on:


    The make and model of your boiler

    The age of your boiler

    The parts needed

    The urgency of the repair

    If a boiler is displaying a fault code, it will usually cost £90-£300 to diagnose and address the issue.


    If your boiler isn't heating water, it will usually cost around £175 to fix the issue.

  • What are my boiler repair options?

    Every boiler is different, so there is no one right way to repair a boiler. 


    During call-outs, engineers usually diagnose the problem and price repairs straight away. If there are several boiler repair options, they will usually help you choose the best option. 


    Options include descaling, power flushing, and replacing the parts that caused the boiler breakdown.


    If your boiler is still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, then you could save some money on a repair. 



  • Can I get an emergency boiler repair?

    Yes! We are able to provide solutions to almost any problem your boiler may have, including emergency boiler repair. Just give us a call, someone will add your job to the system, and we will book in your repair.

  • What happens if I do not get my boiler repaired?

    If your boiler needs repairs, you should try to get the job booked in as soon as possible.


    If you do not get your boiler repaired, then you may be left with no central heating, which is less than desirable in the winter months. 


    If you put off your boiler repairs for a prolonged period of time, this could lead to a full boiler breakdown or 'dead boiler', which may mean you'll need to pay for a new boiler.
